Nei pressi   della splendida ed affascinante Gravina della Murgia Tarantina, ricca di testimonianze di quella che fu l'antica civiltà rupestre con i suoi Santuari e le sue Cripte adornate da preziosi affreschi appartenenti ad un periodo che va dal X al XVI secolo, tra le terre che ebbero il privilegio di ospitare alla fine dell'Ottocento la Regina Vittoria d'Inghilterra, sorge il complesso Agrituristico "La Gravinella".
Facilmente raggiungibile dalla S.S. Appia tra Taranto (12 Km) e Massafra (9 Km) la struttura offre 16 posti letto, spazi per agricampeggio, una comoda piscina ed un servizio di ristorazione basato su cucina tipica.
In azienda vengono prodotti agrumi della pregiata varietà "Clementine" del Golfo di Taranto (IGP) nonchè dell'ottimo Olio di Oliva Extravergine ottenuto con metodi tradizionali e del vino di eccellente qualità ottenuto con uvaggi prodotti nei terreni situati nel cuore della DOC "Primitivo di Manduria":
Taranto, la perla dello Jonio, con il suo Golfo noto per essere una zona vocata per la pesca e per i suoi squisiti "frutti di mare".
Questa vocazione ha spinto l'azienda a dotarsi di uno splendido Gozzo di 8 metri, che potrà essere utilizzato dagli ospiti per la pesca d'altura, per escursioni subacquee o semplicemente per lasciarsi baciare dal sole.
La pesca d'altura nel Golfo darà la possibilità di tornare alla "base" con splendide prede come tonni, spigole, orate, etc.....che potranno essere degustate in azienda accompagnate da un  buon bicchiere di vino.

T H E  F A R M H O U S E

La Gravinella is a farmhouse located in the heart of the splendid and charming Gravina della  Murgia Tarantina (near Taranto).  The zone has a rich artistic and historical heritage related to the local cryptic civilizations, who’s underground caves and sanctuaries are decorated with unique frescoes dating from as early as the tenth century.  It was even visited by Queen Victoria herself at the end of the nineteenth century.
The farmhouse is easily reached using the SS Via Appia, (the Appian Road originally constructed by the ancient Romans) and is roughly half way between Taranto (KM 12) and Massafra (KM 9).  The Gravinella can sleep 16 guests comfortably, a confortable pool and has attached camping facilities if needed.  We are also fortunate to have a fantastic restaurant amongst our facilities that specializes in the wonderful local cuisine.
As well as the superb local olive oil produced with strict attention to traditional methods, local grapevines provide us with the rich and full bodied “Primitivo di Manduria”, a wine who’s reputation grows by the day! The farm itself produces very particular clementines, for which the Gulf of Taranto is internationally renowned.
Taranto, known as the pearl of the Ionian, is nestled in the middle of a beautiful gulf, closed in on either side by two small Islands.  This provides fertile fishing territory renowned throughout Italy, which in turn gives rise to the rich culinary heritage the area enjoys.
This in turn leads on to the fantastic Gozzo which the Gravinella has the luxury of enjoying.  The Gozzo, an eight meter boat, is used by the guests for excursions both to fish and to relax.  So whether you’re using in to snorkel, lay on a secluded beach or even fish, you will be given expert help, guidance and direction by the staff of the Gravinella.   There are few places in the world one could be happier, than on the terrace of the Gravinella, sipping a chilled glass of wine and enjoying the days catch of tuna, sea bass or myriad of other seafood treats to be found in the local waters.
